Jafar Ghaisari received his B.Sc., M.Sc.,
and Ph.D. degrees with honors in Electrical Engineering from Isfahan
University of Technology (IUT), Iran, in 1996, 1999, and 2006
respectively. During the Ph.D. program, he joined the Department of
Electrical and Computer
Engineering, Queen's University as a visiting researcher from 2004
to 2005 and received research scholarships.
Since 2007, Dr. Ghaisari has been with the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering at Isfahan University of Technology,
Iran, where he is currently an Associate Professor. Now, He is director
of
Control and Industrial Automation Research Center. His current
research interests include
instrumentation, industrial
automation, nonlinear control and hybrid systems, and control
applications in power electronics converters and FACTS devices.
In addition, Dr. Ghaisari has demonstrated his ability to apply
his knowledge in an industrial context. He has acted as a Principle
Investigator in 10 and Co-PI in about 11 funded research projects at the
Mobarakeh Steel Co., Isfahan Power Generation Co., Isfahan Regional
Electric Co., Iranian National Gas Co., and Iranian Ministry of Science
and Technology. According to his experiences and administrative skills,
Dr. Ghaisari was chair of
Technology
and Industrial Collaborations Office at the university in 2008-2010.
Besides academic activities, Dr. Ghaisari played a key role in
the design and development of various electronics, instrumentation and
control systems for a wide range of applications. He was a design
engineer at M.E.E Company and E.P.R.A.D Ltd., Iran, respectively during
the period of 1997-2001. He also has considerable consulting experience
with the industries.
Dr. Ghaisari is a member of Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers, IEEE, (S’96, M’06).
